Was never a fan of rosy-sweet rose oils that had a pink-red effervescence to them. Too much green-stem citrus was a no-go as well. Then on a fine morning I received a sample of this oil & it was truly a reveal-ation.
It strikes such a pleasant balance b/w petals & earth that it makes it my favourite rose oil of all time. Thanks to this very oil, now I know Rose oils from Iran are my fav type. They have a common, neutral burst of freshness & a cooling sensation. Like a rain drop in adhesion with a petal.
This rose oil to me smells exactly like what one would smell when the first drops of rose water land on freshly grounded Fuller’s Earth (Multani Mitti). We all know that olfactory delight!
Moreover, this oil has unmistakable undertones of Lychee flesh & that’s all the sweetness there is.
Subtle yet necessary!
For how well balanced (sweet-earthy) this oil was, I found it perfect for musk macerations & Ghaliyas.
